Maybe it is because I do not – as of yet – own a home, but I find homeowners’ associations (HOAs) odious and anti-American. I also find them cryptofascist and in some cases borderline racist, and associated with the worst aspects of exurban sprawl.

So you’ll forgive me if I have a hard time working up tears over this.
