I have been fortunate to work with some fantastic musicians in my life. Every work on this list was inspired in some way by the prospect of a great musician doing wonderful things. Recordings of some works are available on my Soundcloud page or my YouTube channel.

Hi Wes,
Would any of your solo euphonium pieces work on tuba? If so, I’m quite interested.
Thanks,
Chad Walther
chad.walther@yahoo.com
Dear Wes Finn
Googling my name (to keep from doing fruitful work), I learned you composed an opera based on my short-short story “Bedtime Story.” I wrote the story for a lark years ago and the damned thing has appeared in a bunch of languages and forms that include Spanish & Farsi, movies & ballet.
I’d love to hear (and see, if possible) your operatic version. Is it on youtube by any chance? Several film versions are.
The story even appeared in the L.A. Times obituary for Steve Forbes, the late publisher of the San Luis Obispo, CA, weekly paper in which it was first published. It’s also in “The Cambridge Introduction to Narrative,” Cambridge University Pressm and “Brevity: a flash fiction handbook,” Columbia University Press.
All best,
Jeff Whitmore
P.S. I enjoyed your blog.
Holy crap! I gotta log in more! I just now saw this comment!
It was staged by the North American New Opera Workshop (NANOWorks). I wasn’t able to be at the performance, though I’m told it went well.
I’ll see what I can find.
What an honor. Thank you.
WF
